View Full Version : Help! Need a mechanic/shop recommendation in Starkville

Daughters car broke down this morning on the way to campus. We replaced battery couple weeks ago, but it's looking like it must have been the alternator. Any suggestions of someone reasonable?

Tire place out in Clayton village, name escapes me right now. William Wells Tire and auto! Fair price and honest.

We had similar issues last year. City Alignment was recommended to us. We would use them again

Alternator not a big job. Almost any mechanic will do.

I know it's not in Starkville, but just north of Columbus in Steens, a place called Euro Specialist does a great job. Guy by the name of Andy is always honest and fair. One of the things I like is he will take the time to show you what happened and WHY it happened so you can try to keep it from happening again. It's where I go any time I have an issue with my car. If you have AAA, they can tow the car out there no problem.

I always go to the jiffy lube right beside that chevron gas station on 12 and have had great experiences.

I use Tri-Star on The Avenue of Patriots. They've never failed to be among the lowest estimates, and they do good work.

...Showing my age here...but there used to be a "Muff Doctor" and "Lube Doctor" right behind the Chevron on the North side of 12.

I know they aren't there anymore, but this thread reminded me of them. Always made me laugh on my trip by Christy Burger.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. After looking at all my options I think I'm going to just use this as an excuse to head to Starkville and fix it myself. Anyone know of anything going on in Starkville this weekend that I could do while I'm there? ***
