One thing to think about...being on 2nd, he was pretty much in his regular position at SS and has seen hundreds of hits from that point of view. He knew which blade of grass it was going to hit.

While arguing Cohen clearly says "that's not possible" and that's the only explanation I could come up with. That was the very definition of catchers interference and just another example of how college umps are the worst at doing their job of any profession on earth.
