Giants call up Chris Stratton

The Friday night of the Missouri series, I sat in front of a woman that was listening to a ballgame on a small radio. I could tell it wasn't our game as the announcer wasn't Jim. After a couple of innings, I turned and asked her what game she was listening to. The lady replies that she's listening to the Sacramento River Cats and that her nephew, Chris Stratton, was pitching that night. Had a nice talk with the her and her husband. Lady said that Chris was about become or had just become a father....It's been a big season so far for Chris. Getting the call up and now becoming a father...congrats on both.

That's great. Is he a starter or reliever? If starter, be sure and let us know when he pitches.

I'm not sure if they are going to let him start in place of Matt Cain who just went on the DL or out of the bullpen yet.

It could be a lot better but not horrible for a beginning. Just needs to improve. Hopefully, the numbers will improve before he hits 100 innings. If he gets there.

Excited for Chris and selfishly because I'm a SF fan. His numbers don't bear out how good he's been lately. And according to the SF press, he's needed for long relief as the Giants just started a 14-day road trip. He was scheduled to start today in OKC.

Good for Chris. Our family went out to SF a couple of summers ago, and we went to a Giants game which turned out to be a double header because 1 was a make up game. It is really a great venue, and a good franchise.
