I can't wait to see the NCAA's sanctions. Those will more accurately indicate what the NCAA thinks Ole Miss did than the NOA does. The NOA is just what they can prove.

Of course Ole Miss wants to delay. 1. So they can compete this season for a big bowl game 2. To ensure the NCAA doesn't allow recently signed players to transfer.

Will be interesting to see if the NCAA goes along with this.

That's a signing class and if you factor it reduces any room for errors on what you do sign, it's a problem. And they won't be done. Round II.

NCAA: You will need to appear before the COI this summer.

OM: But we just got new info about more cheating! We need to investigate! Give us more time!

It is truly amazing that this has been dragging along for the past 4 years and will probably drag along for another year.

Does this just apply to what olemiss just released their response over? In other words, they lose 20 scholarships and then the ncaa sends a second letter after that and they could get hit with more losses?

Yes, but I'd expect it to be at least 21 if not more.

This may sound crazy but I'm starting to wonder if UNM didn't leak the Tunsil stuff on draft night just so they could get this delayed. I know it sounds crazy but those turds are desperate. Just a thought.

What motivation does the NCAA have to delay Ole Miss' appearance in front of the COI?

I don't get why they NCAA would do this when it's clear what OM's motivation for wanting it delayed is

Ouch

The NCAA needs to make an example of Ole Miss

Ole Miss admitted to eight Level I violations involving football

But when you're a bad program competing for the same talent as a good one, you need to have a little something extra up your sleeve. What's the real cost of a down payment on a 2010 Dodge Challenger, or a $2,250 cash handout, or a fraudulent ACT score if it improves the team and increases a coaches' earning power 10 times over?
The NCAA should let Ole Miss know.

The NCAA can now decide whether it wants to increase those penalties. It should.

the NCAA needs to make an example out of Ole Miss. It's not just because the school broke the rules” everyone at that level of college football is breaking the rules (and if they aren't they won't be long for their jobs) ” it's because Ole Miss was so brazen about it.

Ole Miss clearly lacks institutional control it spit in the face of the rules and was unabashed about doing so, daring someone to catch it.
Now it's been caught. Comeuppance should be on its way.

Exactly! Hopefully the NCAA tells them not no but, HELL NO!

Have we heard squat from UNM since draft night? No. Because they have deep problems with what came out. I suspect just one of the problems is the arbitrary, "do you know of any other possible violations" questions asked during all those interviews. I actually might let it delay to really give them a much harsher rectal exam. In essence, they just opened the doors wide open to other additional staffers being named with violations. It gets me closer to LOIC and a HC show cause. I let it ride and give them even more rope to hang themselves with. It probably also chums the water with more blood calling for extreme penalties and to not accept their joke of self imposed sanctions. I give them an extension.
