not yet sure who their starting QB is .... new co-orinators .... sounds like we are catching them at probably the best time of the year with the first game .... if we can control our usual first "big-game mistakes" (fumbles, penalties, ect, ) then I like our shot ... their fans are giving us zero chance to win this game

They know who their starting QB is. They are just trying to play games with us. It's silly because it doesn't really matter to us which one starts.

They strike me as the type of school that has 3 QBs in their back pocket who can step in and throw for 350.

We are going to have to score almost every time we touch the ball. Their defense sounds a mess right now. To compete, we have to have some long scoring drives on offense (by long, I mean like 6 minutes long). Go slow, run a lot, convert on 3rd, repeat until TD. We just have to weather the storm on defense and capitalize when they make mistakes. Turnovers and FGs are our goals on defense.

That's most likely completely true.

I'm not sure how much stock to put into this, but this guy used advanced stats to show that Oklahoma State has had 3 of the 5 most underrated defenses in the last 4 seasons.

Yeah, I don't know much about F+ stats but it appears he cherry picked to me. He admits he is an avid OSU fan and Lo and Behold!!!! OSU is the best according to his data! Followed closely by many other Big 12 teams. He basically found a way to show what we already know. Hurry up offenses have a negative effect on your own defense because you put them on the field for more plays/time. He doesn't explain his calculations but admits to "throwing out garbage yards" late in the games. Well that's fine unless that's still your first team D out there bc you have trouble holding large leads. Besides that, they fired their DC who was DC over all 3 seasons he put OSU so high via F+, so apparently Gundy was not impressed.

Since this thread popped back up, I'll throw in some some additional reading material I've found on OSU's defense:
