View Full Version : So to recap this morning's OM response....

1. 3 Level 1 charges against Freezus

2. "and we submitted our Response to the Notice of Allegations (?Response?) in April"....just as I said they did Bruiser.

3. "On the first day of the 2016 NFL Draft, new information came to light involving a former football student-athlete. That very night, the University and NCAA began a joint review to determine whether bylaws have been violated, and we hope this review will be concluded soon.

Soooo, the Mouthpieces lied to their flock again. "New information". That means OM had no clue and this was NOT part of some BS fund
Also, they are finally admitting the NCAA is still investigating.

4. "To ensure fairness to all parties and pursuant to COI procedure, we have asked the COI to remove the hearing from this summer?s docket until this review can be completed and closed."

delay tactic to keep all this from coming out and being ruled on this summer. Delay, delay, delay hopefully until after Signing Day if any way possible

5. 3 Level 1 allegations against Freezus. 3. No way in HELL thats going to be 9 over 3. No chance

This is more than I was expecting. . . If they pile on more w/ the Post-Tunsil draft drama . . . that's gonna sting.

13 of Ole Miss? 28 NCAA allegations involve football program; 11 of those 13 violations in Hugh Freeze era

Reading this now, hard to believe Ole Miss tried to spin this as being mostly pre-Freeze. The first 9 violations were under his watch.

What are the 3 Level 1s associated with Freezus? Having trouble quickly deciphering all this.

ETA: I see the full NOA now. Geez -- is the second one really gonna be worse? This looks bad! SO many Level 1s.

I haven't understood this myself. Why does Bjork hang is credibility on something he knew was a lie. At the end of the day, I think he says screw OM and thinks about his own future. Just an odd choice imho.

Really Clark?

They are asking to self impose just 11 scholarship reductions with one counting back to last year (they state they initially were only going to try and self impose 9 starting this year). So they really had not self imposed but 1. I think with this many Level 1's the NCAA going up that number for sure. 16 of the 28 total violations are Level 1 for the athletics department. Granted some of those are tagged to the boosters but that is a whole lot more than mostly it minor (Level III or less) violations.

Maurice Harris, Chris Kiffin and Derrick Nix are all current assistants named for some level of violation.

But we were told none of the violations were against the current staff???

The Laremy Tunsil draft night fiasco was news to Ole Miss, and the hearing has been postponed while it is investigated.

They have requested it to be postponed. The NCAA might, but it hasn't said it would for certain yet. If I read that correctly.

Correct and none of these violations had anything to do with the Tunsil situation.

Remember when Ole Miss "sources" leaked to friendly reporters right before Signing Day that all this stuff was pre-Freeze? That was ethical.

It's pretty fluffy. It's basically throwing the women's basketball team under the bus. It doesn't mention football but a couple of times, and completely avoids addressing the 16 level 1 infractions (total). I think this was the best they could do considering Vitter had to put his name out there (and reputation).

ESPN Article on UNM .. comments are getting heated (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/15766359/ole-miss-self-imposes-double-digit-reduction-football-scholarships)

Funny how the women of UNM always get involved in defending their football program. Must be former sorority "BJ" girls of the past recruiting parties.

And they agree with the facts and classification of all three level one violations during freeze's time. Of note, infraction number two is a failure to monitor charge with which they disagree.

That's how bad it really is going to be. Good thing we have a 3 day weekend coming up. Going to need that extra day to detox from the celebration this weekend.

265 interviews and they did not know anything about Tunsil? Incompetence or lies are only alternatives.

Lying to NCAA investigators is an automatic show clause. Freeze can throw Miller and Barney under the bus and maybe save himself if they are willing to say they were alone in doing this. Just doesn't make sense though because it isn't like the coach recruiting them made promises. Miller and Barney are administrative. If I was the NCAA then I would give the entire football team an audit of bank records. It is pretty easy to see if you look at someone's pay stub to tell if they can afford the house they are living in and car they are driving.
