I just hope we set it up where Pilk goes game 1 of regional provided we get a garbage team.

Sexton should pitch game 1. He and Hudson have to pitch the first 2.

I wouldn't use our big 2 on short rest for sec tourney

If Hudson or Sexton throw in the tournament I would only let them throw 50 or 60 pitches. They have thrown a lot of pitches the last couple weekends

Yes, I meant for the regional. We should pitch Hudson and Sexton on a normal schedule for the SECT and then set up the first 2 regional games so that we have the best shot to win those 2 games. The first 2 regional games are each more important than game 3.

I'm not too worried about the pitch counts. They get more rest than guys in pro ball.

I would pitch Houston, but I know that's not a popular choice.

Whoever we would throw in game 4 of a regional should get the ball

We have pitching depth.....other than FL, more quality SEC arms than anyone

If we can get away with pitching Cyr on Wednesday and winning, we would be setup pretty well to win the tournament.

I'm not stuck on Pilk and am fine with throwing our big 2 first. But if you're going to flip flop them then to me why not throw Pilk against a swac or worse which we should get game 1.

yea I'd like to think against a 4 we'd score enough to pitch pretty much whoever we wanted

Y'all will laugh at me, but go look at Alabama state's numbers. I don't want them as our four.

Alabama State went perfect in the SWAC regular season AND tournament. They dominated that league. If there's a SWAC team to watch out for this year, it's Alabama State.

They also have the number 8 pitcher in the country as far as ERA is concerned. He's 10-2 with a 1.40 ERA. 77.1 IP and an opp. BA of .199, 89/35 K/BB ratio

Auburn kicked their ass.

Exactly. Hell, I wouldn't mind the Freshman Johnny Wholestaff against a SWAC type of 4. We've done it all season with no problem.

Because the first 2 are the most important. I get that the first game will be against the weakest opponent and we should be able to beat them with anyone...but I don't want to play that game. Just pitch Sexton and then Hudson, start 2-0, and you basically have the regional won.

Watched Alabama st this weekend, Their Ace is going to be a tough out for someone. He has been the conference pitcher of the year 3 years in a row. FB is only 87-89 but its from a low 3/4 slot that gets a lot of sink. That being said if they do land in Starkville I wouldn't be too worried. It is neat to see a small school have the success they have had.

They beat Tennessee and South Alabama mid week. Not world beaters, but when an Alabama State can beat an SEC team and USA mid week they aren't to be overlooked, especially considering they didn't lose a game in conference. I hope they end up elsewhere honestly. That's a good ball club.

JSU #1 beat ULL in the regional two years ago. It can happen. Go Hudson, Sexton games 1-2 and hopefully we'll have big leads so we can pull them after 60 pitches. (Regional)

Correct. Alabama State should go to Ole Miss or USM, if they host.

Don't go with Hudson game 1. You can't do that.

It's the order they've pitched in all year. Agree to disagree.

FWIW, Cohen was on H2H today and said he would treat Wednesday as a midweek game and start Hudson on Thursday and Sexton next. That way they would be pitching on regular rest.

Doesn't matter, you have to leave Hudson to pitch against the 2 seed. He's easily our best pitcher.

Cyr not traveling

Cyr has travelled a couple of times after not traveling the first 3-4. But who knows how we will set the roster for regional.
