So apparently the rain and TV schedules are really wreaking havoc with this series. Game 3 is now a 7 inning game only because they have to allow for another possible delay in the resumed Game 1 if it doesn't finish by 2:30 PM on Saturday. This is because the conference requires a hard-stop of any subsequent games at least one hour before any televised games, and the Saturday game 3 was scheduled to to start at 3:30 PM. So if the resumed Game 1 doesn't finish by 2:30 PM, they will halt Game 1 whereever it stops, play the 7-inning Game 3 in its entirety, then go back and finish Game 1 after Game 3 is over. I have no idea if any of that hurts us or helps us....but damn.

That's an absolute cluster

Can't think of any reason why but maybe it helps the home team. I feel like road teams are typically more affected by schedule irregularities.

I think (hope) the shorter game helps LSU (and us) since Florida has the much deeper pitching staff.

If that series gets rained out and we sweep we are SEC champs. We need LSU to win 1 if they play any amount of games.

T.V. has really screwed up baseball. As soon as they began to show games, BOOM, they dictate when and what you do

I enjoy watching them on tv, so I'm not complaining

This is true to an extent. It's one thing if it only affects when you reschedule the games, but when you actually are shortening the games and therefore impacting the result in some way, that's another thing altogether.

I'm not really sure why they didn't just resume Game 1 today. Game 2 isn't until 6 PM and there is hardly any rain in the forecast in Baton Rouge right now. Makes no sense.

I don't get it... why did they push the finish of game 1 to Saturday... It's clear out there all day today... and they are playing game 2 at 6pm tonight..

Bingo, there is no reason other than T.V. School is out, why not play and get the game in?

Why not just finish game 1 on Friday at 1:00?

You could be done with game 1 well before 6 on Friday. Even if it were to go 12 innings

T.V.

The remainder of game 1 is not on tv. And it would be over well before the start of game 2, which is on tv.
