I saw the Shuckers tweet that yesterday. Said he is slated to start tomorrow, I think, vs the Lookouts.

Edit: correction, he is expected to start Thursday against the Smokeis.

Former Mississippi State hurler Woodruff joins Shuckers (http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20160517&content_id=178656768&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_t5015&sid=t5015)

Was he one of the guys Butch just couldn't develop or was he hurt? Butch seemed to have a problem developing the typical power arm but was great in tinkering with mechanics to get sink.

He never developed.. We tried and tried him and he either walked himself out of the game or got shelled.. The talent was evident

The article gives extensive detail on his uneven career with us. Not related to that, he is the first player from Mississippi to play for the Shuckers.

He was hurt. In 2013 he was pitching with a hairline fracture in his arm. I remember he started the Governor's Cup and was throwing something like 65 on his fastball and we took him out after one inning.
