Shoddy Boddy? Hard to pull for them ... maybe just 2 of 3 or something, as long as we can sweep Arkansas. But we've played better on the road this year than at home.

I want us to sweep, and Ole Miss to lose 2 of 3 to A&M.

Oh, and I may have spoken too soon. SC was up 10-5 w/2 outs, & now it's 10-7 & A&M has a man on 2nd. Shirley they won't blow this.

Lol, they'll get it.

Honestly, I was typing this up, & intended on hitting "post" after the final out, but hit it early by accident.

It's official now! SC wins

We certainly have a good chance. Hope they take Arkansas seriously and not let up. Should be OK based on how they played against Auburn, another weak team this year.

If we do, I'd love to hear those Florida announcers ....

Arkansas just got swept AT HOME by a team we nearly (should have) swept AT THIER PLACE. Anything can happen in baseball, but next weeks series vs UPig should be about like this weekends' series. I only wish we could borrow AU's stadium to play it in. That would be a guaranteed sweep.

I agree. Don't know that we will necessarily sweep, but, IF we do then, yes, I think that will bring home the hardware that we so desperately need.

Great weekend of baseball for the best fans in the sport. Would have been sweet to see the teams tied for third drop a game, but patience, says my mind to my heart. Patience.

How are we tied with OM? We were a game ahead of them. Or am I getting the OP confused ?

We have to win at least 2 to have a chance at the overall title.

If MSU wins all 3, Fla and A&M must lose 1
If MSU wins 2, Fla and A&M must lose 2

Somebody check my math....

Let me ask again - if we sweep, and ATM goes 2-0 vs Bears + a rainout, doesn't that also work out for us (assuming UF drops one at LSU)?

We'd be 21-9, ATM and Florida would be 20-9.

And I say this as there is a high likelihood of thunderstorms in College Station next weekend (Thursday and Friday at least) according to the 10-day forecast.

I figure they find a way to get three games in, especially since they matter to the standings.

We are currently tied... if our weekend is better than theirs -- by percentage in case of rain out -- we win the West outright. If we have the same result, we are co-champs.

Look at the hour by hour forecast not the % for the day... It's still too far out to know but as of right NOW for Thursday, Wunderground shows light rain (.01 inch per hour) until 8pm through 10pm so they might be playing in light rain part of the game but lightning would be the biggest threat. Friday rain until Noon... So could finish game 1 or play a doubleheader. Saturday is clear.

I wouldn't be worried about rain as of today being a problem..

*edit* If you want to be worried about future weather that can't be accuratly predicted yet.. be more worried about LSU-UF, if the weather held as its predicted they would only get 1 in or maybe 2 7's if you can play 2 on get away day.

Right about UF-LSU. Gators have to lose. Period. Regardless of whether they get in 1, 2, or 3 games. Even 19-8 is a better winning percentage than 21-9 by about 3/10 of a percent.

Only if they play ZERO games would we edge them out by less than one percent.

Percentages. because UF-USC both have one less conference game than everyone else due to a rain out.

One other requirement: If we win two, in addition to FL and aTm needing to lose two, USCe must also lose at least one.

So if it's based on percentages, Florida HAS to either lose 1 game, or all 3 have to be rained out for us to pass them.

A&M must have one loss or rainout for us to pass them.

This is all based on us sweeping of course.

Correct, if UF plays and wins even one game, 19-8 is better than 21-9. If they play 1, 2, or 3... we will win as long as they lose one game and TAMU loses one or doesn't play one.

Many are thinking only of winning the West, which basically means nothing. The meaningful thing is to win the OVERALL championship, which we haven't done since 1989. Back then, MSU had won the conference championship the second-most number of times, but we have probably fallen further behind by now, haven't checked.

The SEC regular season championship is about the third highest achievement in college ball, after making it to Omaha and winning the whole thing.

It's even better when nobody expected your team to do it. Unless Ole Miss, LSU or the weather crap out on us, it will happen

As you said we haven't won it since 1989. We have won it 10 times total. LSU has 16, Alabama has 14, Florida has 13. The Bears are behind us at 7.
9 of LSU's have come since we last won. Florida has won it 6 times.

As far as the tournament goes, we are in a 3 way tie for 2nd most at 7 with alabama and florida. LSU leads with 11.
We last won in 2012.
