Since the talking heads for the bears claimed that the money given to Tunsil was from the legitimate opportunity fund, yet not one person has produced the necessary paperwork to back up that claim. 15 days and counting and all we have is Alford saying he has been told the paperwork exists. Paperwork that would make all this go away. Then couple that with St. Freeze the Honest and Righteous saying he wanted anything he has to say under oath sealed from public record and it is simply amazing that any bear can come out and say they aren't cheating their bony little asses off.

I suspect the "paperwork" was drafted the night of the draft, followed by the foundation development of "we didn't know where to submit the paperwork" or the "we tried to email you; did it not come through?".

This has the feel of OM claiming this is all just a big misunderstanding, paired with the claimed incompetence of one/several low-level coaches/staff, which comes with the firing of those individuals and a few slaps on the hands. I still believe the hammer will be dropped, but I am hedging my optimism. The silence was once encouraging, but it's now a bit disconcerting because I want them to step on their d*cks once or twice more before I'll be completely content.

And how many days has it been since the CL filed an FOI for the text messages? A week, maybe ten days? And still crickets.

They're so screwed.

I don't think so. If they had ANYTHING, real or forged, they would have shoved it in front of a camera long ago. They can't because they know the sec office is supposed to have a copy. Be willing to bet my vcash there is no such paperwork on file and they can't bribe anyone there to file the forgery.

Pretty sure this one can't be forged, backdated, etc.

I like the theory but it doesn't pass the smell test. If OM has successfully used the opportunity fund in the past, then claiming ignorance on this one instance won't work. And I have a feeling that their opportunity fund has been used extensively in the past

This is what's so great is trying to see them make things stick that either have no legitimacy or if true, would have ended this charade long ago. It's interesting to watch people make excuses when they are in deep trouble from their own doing. Let's you know what kind of person they really are if you didn't already know. In this case, it just confirms what we already knew, which makes it just that much more fun to watch.

There are many reasons the opportunity fund excuse doesn't make sense

- you can't use the fund to pay mom's utility bills . It is used for emergency travel, exam fees, medical expenses not covered by insurance etc

- you must deal with compliance on receiving money from the fund ,not a coach or assistant AD

- if there was a paper trail , the SEC office would have a copy

Any beat reporter still blabbing about this is obviously off their rocker . There is no way to dig yourself out of this hole . OM has been backed into a corner and has been stuck there for the past 15 days

They've been stuck in their corner for 3 years. This site has relayed that very clearly, yet only people smart enough to connect the dots believed it. The good news is that Bjork is very excited to tell their side of the story. Hence the transparency being offered up by sharing the NOA, their commitment to honor FOIA requests asking for emails received by their university compliance department, and freezes willingness to be open and honest in a deposition involving domestic violence.

"Sources" have been stating messages are referencing a legit fund and there is nothing to see here.

Yesterday, ESPN states that OM officials acknowledge the text exchange happened, but are investigating whether they had been altered or not.

Investigation is not necessary if the exchange was regarding appropriate exchanges of funds. You just come out and say that it's all on the up and up.

Combo all this and there is not one quote from Tunsil after the draft incident offering any clarification or context. That would take 5 minutes.

I love every second of this.
