If this were to happen, we could get Bear back if he kept his grades in order. Probably wouldn't happen this year.

That would completely flood the draft with underclassmen.

But at least that idea is possible. The idea of having guys drafted later than expected returning is about the dumbest I've heard of. The NFL would never come close to allowing that.

I like the idea of undrafted players being allowed to return to school. I agree with you, if they get drafted they shouldn't be allowed to return. That's taking it a bit too far.

MLB does it every year.

I think the NFL should allow underclassmen to come back if they aren't drafted. I think it's beneficial to both the NFL and the player to have a combine and have pro scouts critique players- essentially what the NBA does.

And the MLB draft and NFL draft aren't comparable in any way.

They aren't comparable, but I'd like to know why they aren't comparable in the eyes of the NCAA. In baseball, you can be drafted multiple times and return to school as many times as you want. In football, it's a one shot deal. It's not the leagues that even have a say in whether or not a player can go back to school, it's the NCAA only. It's a double standard that has never really made sense to me.

A lot of agents advances money to tier clients. There would have to be some record kept and money paid back.

Or you just allow them to stay eligible if they don't hire an agent.

I agree. Why not get the NFL draft like MLB.

For Junior's to declare:

> No contact or signing with agents until after the draft. If so, not eligible to come back.
> Must get draft grade.
- If graded within the first 4 rounds and go undrafted, can come back to school.
- If not graded within the first 4 rounds, can still enter draft, but not eligible to come back if not drafted. (I think this would be the answer to the thought of every junior would be entering the draft as Smoot mentioned; Chris Jones would have been graded within the first 4 rounds, thus protecting him if he went undrafted. It would not have protected Bear, as he would have been graded higher than 4th round, and I'm assuming a higher than 4th grade on Bear since he wasn't drafted at all).
- If drafted at all, not eligible to come back to school.
> Must be on track academically to enroll the next semester to be eligible to come back.

I'm sure I missed something, but that's a starting point.
