Of the 2017 draft tonight in tanner houck. According to baseball America. Sits at 92-96 with arm side run and "tremendous" slider. Feel like we are assuming a sweep but sexton needs to be good tonight.

We really need to get on the board early and put some pressure on them. I really hope Sexton is on. Is this the last "great" pitcher that we will see before the tournament?

Houck is certainly good, but he's not a shut-down ace, at least not at this point in his career. We will have to come to play, but we still should win.

For sure. Mizzous downfall is their .959 fielding percentage. That is horrid and worst in the league. Just limit strikeouts and make them defend. Sexton should keep their hitters tamed seeing as though they hit .256.

And yea, should be the last elite arm we see until postseason.

I agree, I'm just saying the talent is there to shut people down. He has electric stuff.

Eta: my post really was more to those who think all we have to do is show up to win against mizzou, aub, and ark bc their records suck, like bonner said on the radio yesterday. This is the sec.

In 11 starts, he's 4-4 with a 3.12 ERA and averages right at 7 innings per start. Really solid numbers, but nothing mind boggling.

For the most part, we have had solid approaches each time we have faced an elite pitcher this year. Who knows what tonight will bring, but our coaches usually do a nice job in using the scouting reports to help set our approach at the plate.

Hump has been a lot better lately but he looked like crap last night. Hopefully Lowe continues to tear up that righty pitching.

In Cohen's defense, no coach expected 4 different guys to not be able to throw a single strike. It looked like his first year when we had to bring in the right fielder to finish the game and he hadn't pitched in 4 years. I do agree it was stupid to pull Sexton though.

Nothing is automatic in college baseball, especially a three-game sweep. But most of the rest of their team is pretty bad. I would guess we have at least a 75% chance of winning.

Every week we face a tough pitcher. I am tired of hearing about it.. I bet our batters light him up and he is chased out by the 6th.

Baseball is all about probabilities and the probability that we will come out tagging the ball after a 19 hit performance the night before is just not going to happen. I'm thinking 4-3 dawgs with 6 hits, no HRs.

With the combination of wrong draft year, outdated mock draft, terrible format, and amount of space taken up, can I nominate this as worst post of the day?

Not sure anyone is "assuming" a sweep given we always seem to crap the bed one game per weekend. I would certainly like to get a sweep though.

When you are the #3 team in the nation and you are playing a team that is 0-12 against RPI top 50 teams, anything less than a sweep is a disappointment. That's just a fact because they haven't beaten a good team all year. That doesn't mean we as fans should be shocked if we lose a game against them (after all, we lost to EKU), but it will still not be acceptable. Plus, we pretty much have to sweep somebody if we want to stay on the good side of the national seed bubble. Might as well be this weekend because its our best shot.
