I really think / hope this guy is trolling. If he is serious and they are really contemplating this...I just don't have the words.

I'm beginning to hear rumblings that we're going to pull a UAB and shut down the football program.

Pretty brilliant, if you think about it. We'll just voluntarily shut down the entire football program. It's a pretty simple procedure. There's an NCAA form you submit along with the appropriate funding verifications and Title IX forms. This wipes the slate completely clean on all pending charges according to NCAA bylaw 13.1.2.4.3.2(c)(ii)(p)(4)(g). Thing is, the NCAA doesn't specify how LONG you have to shut down. (See UAB.) LOOP HOLE. So after like two weeks of no practice (wink-wink), we crank it back up with a clean slate. The NCAA will probably change the rule once we do this but we'll get one freebie out of it.

Oh please let the idiots try to do this. Do they understand that by officially shutting down all players are allowed to transfer without having to sit out? That it allows the SEC to drop them from the conference? Please oh please do this douches

Yeah, just looked it up and that bylaw doesn't even exist. Section 13 deals with recruiting.

The only sliver of truth to this is that if they get the death penalty, they will spin it to the tune that they did it voluntarily.

That is some plan there. Do you know how long it would take the SEC to terminate their membership? About as long as it took me to text this.

That's Jughead, bro. He's actually one of the cool ones. Yeah he's a homer but he admits it and has a sense of humor.

If they shut their program down the SEC will drop them. That's the bottom line.

With the vote having to be unanimous, a charter member would have to vote itself out.

I think it's just 2/3 vote to suspend or terminate a school.

3.1 MEMBERSHIP, TERMINATION, SUSPENSION AND DUES
*3.1.1 Number of Members. The number of members of the Conference shall be set by the Chief Executive Officers.
[Revised 5/30/91]
*3.1.2 Granting of Membership. Membership may be granted by invitation of the Conference at a regular or called
meeting. A three-fourths vote of members is required to extend an invitation for membership. [Revised 5/30/91]
*3.1.3 Suspension of Membership. Two-thirds of the membership may vote to suspend a member at any time, either
indefinitely or for a stated period, for any conduct deemed to be incompatible with membership.
*3.1.4 Termination of Membership. Membership may be terminated at a regular meeting, either by resignation or by
action of the Conference through a vote of two-thirds of the members. If termination is voted by the Conference, the
Conference shall determine the effective date of the termination.

as mentioned before, that's "Jughead"... he has above average intelligence, is articulate, and writes very, very well...

I don't think he's as arrogant as the typical UM cat, but he does toe the company line...

His diatribe on TUSK (after I was banned was from Nafoom) was a thing of beauty, IMO...

I think jughead is every bit as arrogant as the typical om guy, but he's funny as hell so it's easy to overlook.

Of course it's a joke. They are state fan trolling on the main page there. You won't see anything close to real concern on that page. That's what their private board is for.

Personally, I love Rebelbruiser. It's people like him that make all of their NCAA drama so enjoyable for me. I'm sure his tears will be as sweet as Kellum's.

I think there is a bi law that all members will have a football program.
