I know many of y'all don't care for Neal but I'm a regular listener. Today was interesting. They talked about how Tunsil had a 30 minute cooldown period after getting drafted and met with his strategy team to prep for interviews. He was likely aware of the Instagram leaks and was not confused by questioning. He was prepared for all questions. Even mentioned Tunsil's quotes being characterized as "going rouge".

He's been living a lie and has now come clean.

He took a personal stand

My thought is that he knew that the NCAA had the facts and knew he didn't have to cover for them anymore.

He was on ESPN radio with Kiper when the Instagram leak happened. They asked him about it and he just said he couldn't control somebody hacking his phone.

This was approx 20-30 minutes before he went on stage.

My theory on Tunsil speaking out was that after the video leaked, his team told him to be honest and own it. There was no way to deny it since it was obviously him. That had been the focus for a couple of hours. Then the Instagram leak hack happened not long before his press conference. I think without a lot of time to think about it, he went ahead and confessed to that too. I believe he understood the question but was confused on what all he should admit to.

This is exactly what I think happened. You know he isn't used to the pressure of a press conference. He just fell back on admitting the mistake and moving on. They just didn't expect that to get asked or he froze up and forgot what he was supposed to say.
