When the format was a doubleheader (Saturday) with the rubber game on Sunday, they were all 9 innings. Seven innings were only used for weather condition issues.

I had a dh one night back in the early nineties, it was scheduled for 2 7-inning games. Start time was 6:05 pm I think. Anyway, both games went 11 innings. Think we played till almost 2:00 am. That was fun...**

At one time they were. Way, way back in the day it was two 7's before they went to 9/7.
