Let everyone keep overlooking MSU. I like it better that way. We always seem to play better when no one thinks we will

those are two of the top recruits in the nation playing for a 6-6 team. Of course they should make an impact

kicking butt under the radar-ku

Here we go again, under the radar. I hope Russell sticks it to the whole league this year. Twice.

Russell's last 2 games against Ole Miss and in the Gator Bowl against Northwestern were not good at all, especially the NW game where he played by far his worst game of the year. Many are judging him simply because those were his last 2 games of the year and that is what they remember about him but if he leads us to a victory over OSU in 2 weeks then all will be instantly forgotten. "Just win baby"

Cut the "ole piss" stuff. It sounds ridiculous.

I don't know if we are getting an influx of Genespagers looking for something new, or a bunch of trolls, but there has been some extremely questionable posts on here lately that are quite sheepish.

Not referring to this post above necessarily, just in general.

Ole piss? really bro? and fox sports south has nothing to do with ms media (whatever that means).

Take off the maroon glasses bud. Not every slight (imagined or valid) is some ole miss controlled plot to destroy state.

Russell had better numbers than Bo Wallace. Everybody remembers that awful bowl game and that's it.

Wallace has a better QB rating because he threw for 8 Yds more per game and had 5% higher completion percentage... even though his TD:INT ratio was around 1:1 and TR's was 2:1. Id much rather have TR's numbers and I think 95% of coaches would agree with that.... more TD's and less INTs.

What kind of revisionist history books have you been reading? I hate to admit it, bro, but that's just not true. I want Russell to step up and be ALL SEC like the next guy and think that this is his year to shine but we cant just start making 17 up and calling it truth.

Tyler Russell 13 43 120 125 -5 -0.1 2 20 -0.4

So out of all the stats you would measure a QB on, Russell only beats Wallace in ONE category and that is Interceptions. He threw less INTs. Wallace beat Russell in too many to name with a bum shoulder. That's why I think Dan needs to really help him shine this year. That was Wallace's first year in SEC play too.

I know Russell is the better QB and has a future in the game and I want him to put up the best numbers like this next guy but dont go making stuff up about him having better numbers when the numbers dont lie. I think the biggest difference was Wallace's ability to run. He ran for 8 TDs to Russell's 2 and that also opened up his passing game since he through for more yards. Let's face it, in the SEC it's all about a more balanced attack.

TR has more passing TDs too.

I'd like to see a comparison of how many of their yards were of the YAC variety. From the games i watched Russell made a ton more itermediate throws than Wallace which basically was a quick hitch/WR screen or a bomb to Moncrief. Granted it worked pretty well but you can really boost your completion % when a large percentage of your throws are ones that should be 90% completion rate.

That offense worked quite well for OM last year, I'm just trying to say number can be deceiving sometimes. If it's 3rd and 7 and you want someone to throw a dart 10 yards downfield I'm taking TR every time.

I don't buy in you have to play them if they can play. You need to red shirt everyone you can. That is how you build depth in a program. Just think if we could have red shirted Bumphis. I am just saying if you don't have to play Freshman you should not. Just my opinion.

Just for the record, when using the NFL passer rating formula (which is generally held in higher regard than the NCAA's formula), Russell scores a 91.3 and Wallace scores a 89.9.
