This is auburn. He may miss the rest of fall practice and the first game against whatever directional school they play.

If our defense steps up that day in auburn it won't make a difference. I believe that could be a high scoring game if we don't dominate the line of scrimmage.

Their defense won't impress.

You do realize Ellis Johnson is their DC now right? Don't doubt EJ...they'll be solid.

I'm not so sure about him being fired from USCe. Their defense was solid when he was there I thought. Yeah, he sucked as a HC, but I think he's a damn good DC.

He'll be better than what Auburn has had lately. But he's 61 now and Melvin is getting up there as well...I'm not that worried personally

Me either, Coach. EJ has seen his better days. Plus I always thought he was good but not great. He looked outstanding at MSU due to the shittiness of the offense.

He's been kicked off the team, per Twitter.

I say give him a call. He could still enroll for this semester, sit out this season, and play in 2014 for us.

I'm sure freeze has already reached out to him.

Really coach? Wow. Yes he was fired from Southern Miss but he definitely wasn't fired from South Carolina. He had a very solid defense at SC and he was the only thing that made any of Croom's teams even remotely competitive. He sucks as a head coach and that's well documented but it's also well documented that he is one hell of a DC too.

Carl Torbush was a good DC at one point, too.

He was told to look around and find another job by Spurrier. It wasnt just on field coaching. They have had elite defensive talent at SC. He doesnt have that at Auburn. It's been 6 years since he coached for Crooms- and he is past 60 now.

I don't fear EJ

Okay. I wasn't aware of that at SC. Maybe you're right...maybe he's washed up.

I will say this about him. He can be very inconsistent. He will coach a gem of game one week and then the next week have wtf game.

lol Auburn. I've never met an Auburn fan in real life that wasn't a shit head. Next to the bears, there isn't a team I love to beat more.

I don't think EJ is an elite coordinator but he does always seem to find a way to put together fairly solid defenses. While his defense won't be one of the best we face this year his players always play with good pad level**

The only bad job I remember EJ doing was a HC at USM. Not exactly a good way to judge a guy. He had good D at SC and at MSU.

Pretty much everybody that isn't a MSU fan won't give him cred for the job he did at MSU. His D was awesome. The stats just don't show it because the Croomtastic offense couldn't stay on the field. When you go 3 & out so many times any D is going to wear down.
