All of Ole Miss' current woes can be traced to one five-minute period when Hugh Freeze made the ill-advised (more likely, not advised at all) decision to step in front of a microphone and throw Tunsil's stepfather under the bus and basically call him a wife beater.
They likely would have slipped past major sanctions as the NCAA seemed to be finished. From that point forward the NCAA proctoscope was taken out and it's been-- not only a downhill spiral-- but a luge to hell ever since.
If I am an Ole Miss fan, I would be totally and completely pissed off at Hugh Freeze. Instead of self-righteously saying, "he was defending his mother against his stepfather," and that he was "proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family," all he had to say was, "we don't have a comment at this time."
The end is near.
