Need to win 'em both.

Hosting South Alabama tonight here shortly. I'm at Governor's Cup so there won't be many updates.

Good grief. We lost 2-1. Gonna take some big upsets to get a bid to a regional.

You can't lose games like this. You just can't.

You can't lose to UAB, NW State,..... whatever. Back to the baseball game.

Tonight's game at Valley has been postponed to tomorrow at noon due to weather.

Pray it is not cancelled. We are now 24-24. Last nights loss to South Alabama may have kept us out of an NCAA regional invite. It was critical to win. The Valley game is the only game left on the schedule that's more or less an "auto-win," and when the rest of our schedule looks like this and we have to win four to make postseason:

@MVSU
Mizzou
Mizzou
Mizzou
@KY
@KY
@KY

.....we have to play the Valley game. RPI be danged. Our SOS is probably going to get us in the NCAA softball tournament IF....we maintain a .500 record.

-If we go 4-3 in these last 7 games, we'll probably be in because even if we lose opening day of SEC Tournament, we'll be 28-28

-If we go 3-4 in these last 7 games, we're in trouble as we'll be 27-28 heading into the SEC Tournament needing to win opening round against nationally ranked possible Top 10 team. Then we'll have to keep winning because if we win opening round we'll be 28-28. Lose in the second round to a Top 5 team and guess what....28-29, no NCAA bid. So, if we don't win 4 of these last 7 regular season games, we are going to have to make to the SEC Tournament semis to be eligible for a regional invite.

-If we go 2-5 in the last 7 games....We'll have to win the SEC Tournament

I never dreamed we would be struggling this bad to get into postseason play this season or even a month ago

Girls play at noon against MVSU in Itta Bena. It's important to get this game in (See above). There doesn't appear to be any SECN+ coverage, probably due to the reschedule. Only way to follow is in live stats.

In the current SEC standings there seems to be a clear line of demarcation after the top 5 (Florida, Auburn, KY, Bama, Tennessee). Four of these will probably be the top 4 seeds in the SEC Tournament and get the first day off. Right now, we're sitting on 12th (and final). That will put us opening against likely the 5th of the above mentioned schools. Moving up a spot could make our chances of getting past the first day much better, but it will probably be UGA in that in order for us to move up we're gonna have to tag Mizzou a couple of times which will move them down. LSU has only one series left to play and it's against Arky and they will likely win all three. If UGA bombs or something we could see LSU in round one. I wouldn't mind that. Ultimately, we would love to win both remaining SEC series. We could still mathematically move as high as 10th seed, which would be ideal in this case. But it means TAMU will have to bomb. They play UF this weekend and Auburn the next to close the season, so this is possible. But more realistically, we would possible move up one spot to 11th which I think would make our chances of getting past day one of the SECT a little better. We're 2 games behind USCe. They play Bama this week and Mizzou next. They're gonna have to lose both series and probably get swept by Bama. This is very possible though. Of course at this point it all goes hand in hand. We've got win at least two against Mizzou (and still have steal one @UK next week) to get into the NCAAT without having to win two or more in the SECT. Just win girls. It's to that point.

Victory, 6-0

Dawgs are now 25-24 going into the weekend hosting Mizzou. Must take series to realistically continue postseason talk.
