I was thinking about this as well. They only have 3 signees currently. Usually they have a good bit more. Their boards are saying they have some 'private' commitments, but it seems like MSU has a lot more momentum this year as opposed to last year...

Yes it is hurting.

Two reasons:
1. Recruits are worried about sanctions
2. Money train has slowed down for now.

Not as much as it would if the papers covered it like they should

No freaking kidding! When the results come in it's gonna hit some folks like a ton of bricks, because it hasn't hardly been in the papers. Whereas when they were hard after 'The Kang', non-football fans in every corner and under every rock was convinced he was the devil!

Do HS kids read newspapers? For that matter does anyone?

And if every coaching staff is telling these the highly sought after guys the same story and are all on the same page .....

They are treading water but don't think for a minute the Network will slow down. It has been operating since the Vaught era. Maybe some of them are waiting as some of their brethren have been disassociated from the program and that hurts their egos. I will say once anything comes out we may readdress this but it may take a year before any of this comes out and if we wait on the Clarion Ledger, we will never know the truth.

Maybe our recruiters could give the coaches and recruits the Cliff's Notes version and save them relying on papers***

Who's parents? I'm a parent and can't remember the last time I read the paper.
