He is absolutely destroying the adidas circuit this summer. He's averaging 23ppg. Howland has a battle on his hands for his signature.

Yea he's not a slam dunk but Howland is recruiting him harder than anybody else & like Q isn't on the team. He's going to explore all his options but the family has a very favorable opinion of MSU & the talk that Howland can make him the next Russell Westbrook is very appealing.

Howland is known for playing 2 PG's together so it shouldn't.

Per someone who would know, Weatherspoon has actually spoken with Russell Westbrook, who talked very highly of Howland. We will have to put in the effort- but I'd be very surprised if young Spoon went anywhere else.

I would love for Q to have another great year and get there. I think that would help with nick just as much as being able to play with Q

It'll be a tough job to get him since he can look at our roster and see the log jam of guards we have but in the end his dad wants him to be a dawg and we will get him. Don't expect an easy recruitment though his aau and high school coach want him to go elsewhere.

If Nick doesn't come to State it would a UK , Kansas , type team with players as good or better than Peters either already there or signed..

I mean, either way, I like our chances.

Either he has a chance to play with his brother, or he has a chance to play for the coach that got his brother to the NBA in 2 years.

He said in interview he liked the coaches that let the guards go and do their own thing...so I could see where OM could pitch that(Henderson, Summers, Moody). That being said...I don't even think they are even remotely in the picture.

I can easily see that. His HS coach thinks he invented basketball. If he was half as good a coach as he thinks he is, he would be in the NBA by now.

And to counter that, all anyone else has to ask is: "How many of those guards are even sniffing the NBA"....with a follow up question: "Would you rather be a beloved jacker-of-the-3-ball for 2 years by Club Red, or play for a coach who will get you into the league?"

Not to mention, I can't recall a single basketball player that we lost a head-to-head battle for with OM. Not to say there weren't a few of their guys we probably would've liked to have, but we've always recruited on a different level than them.

Yea it's not going to be easy. I think we end up with him but it's definitely not a lay up like many of our fans thought it would be.

I think I saw somewhere that Nick would like to shut it down this summer. If that's the case I think that plays into our favor.

He said he was going to take all 5 OV. He's going to have a top 5 by the end of the summer & then take his visits.

I know nothing of the UNC deal, but I did hear Finebaum joking about the irony of this 2nd letter coming out a few weeks after their National Championship appearance. As if to say that they may not have even had a postseason chance if it had come out sooner....or that's how I took it.
