Or surrounding areas, watercolor etc. Does anybody have a good source besides VRBO. I'm having a really tough time finding a place for late June or July, I guess it's short notice. Apparently these places book up well in advance.

Vacationhomerentals.com. We started advertising our place in Orange Beach on this site a few weeks ago after VRBO instituted a new booking fee on each rental ranging from 4 to 9% of the total. It's not as robust as VRBO yet, but it is growing fast as owners look for VRBO alternatives due to the uproar about the new booking fees.

My wife is addicted to Seaside.....we like it to say the least.....

We have stayed in a dozen different houses over the past 10 years and have not stayed in a bad one yet (knock on wood). She has used Seaside Rentals for most bookings. Those damn things (Seaside properties) are expensive (relatively) but going down there and not driving a vehicle for a couple days is a good thing.......not a lot of places like it

We've stayed at One Seagrove Place a couple of times. Really enjoyed it. Not in the middle of Seaside, but that's what I liked about it. Seaside looked like an ant bed the times we have gone. People on top of people.

Call a property manager down there..
You need to book at least 6 months out, even up to a year ahead to get a good place at a decent price.
I prefer Grayton, Seagrove or Blue Mountain over Seaside)

Good luck

I prefer Grayton too. Having the lagoon there for small kids is awesome. No worries about waves or rip tides.

Seaside is the epitome of social status beach vacation spots. Many better areas to be had, IMO. Sand and water are the same all along the FL coast-line, and pretty much all the food is over-priced.

Thanks for info guys. I'll take all of this into consideration. I've discovered that seaside, watercolor etc. is basically over-priced destin as far as the beaches go. Maybe less "chain places". Kinda like polo shirts, you're just paying for the horse.

Seagrove is by far my favorite out of all the areas down there. You are a 2 minute drive or you can even bike it to seaside if you want, but you also have your privacy. Rosemary is a good spot as well, not as crowded as seaside but still lots of stuff to do.

Anybody been to Ft Morgan lately, I loved that place. But I took my boat down the Tenn Tom stayed and fished there, went over to Destin, it was so damm crowded went back to Ft. Morgan the next day and stayed till got run off by an incoming hurricane.

I imagine they have condos there now.
