Winning at #1 and #2 in the country. Has a team EVER done that before?

It should be comfortably inside the top 15, but it doesn't really matter at this point. Barring a collapse from here on out, we will likely host and have a decent shot at a national seed now.

Well, if we use the football formula, then obviously FL ain't that great since we won the series. Might hurt our RPI. **

Updated RPI currently has us at 17... With the way we have played against elite competition there is no way they will deny us a host spot unless we just collapse.

We have series wins @ RPI#1, vs RPI#4, and @ RPI#11. If we take care of A&M and LSU we're a national seed, IMO.

Hey, even Oregon won a series.

That was before the game was over. They've updated us up to 14 now.

And in addition to those series wins, we also have midweek wins over RPI #11 and #15.

If we win those two series, we're a no-doubt national seed. We could still get there even without it, IMO. Our last 4 series are considerably easier.

Florida losing really hurts our RPI. Probably fall out of the top 100.

MSU has 8 wins against top 15 RPI teams. The most in the country.

It will help theirs but hurt ours.

I think you are right- we still need to win at least one of A&M and or LSU and we have to not lose to Memphis or ULM. We probably need to win both A&M and LSU and not have any bad losses to get the National Seed. We need to take care of business the last three- four weeks of the season too.

Boydsworld has us 18th. Interesting note is we're 8-3 vs teams (south Alabama, usm, vandy, om, and Florida) ahead of us

These comments are somewhat amusing because people say "way too early to look at RPI, etc.", but then everyone wants to know what we are going to be ranked in the polls on Monday. Outside of temporary bragging rights, the polls mean less than nothing in college baseball over the course of the season. The RPI is considered the single biggest determining factor used by the NCAA to select and seed the teams. I'm not saying that I agree with that being the case, but it is what it is.

Who have the bears played to have the #4 RPI? We've gone on the road against two top 3 teams and taking 4/6 and 12th is where we top out?

Won 2/3 vs Louisville and got swept at home by USCe. I cant figure that one out either.

They don't have bad losses... Apparently good wins mean less than bad losses

True. Look at a team's plummet after a bad loss, especially at home, as compared to their rise after a road win. You cannot lose midweek at home unless you have an incredible road record.

They've played 10 games against top 15 teams in the RPI, another 5 against teams in the top 50, and they don't have as many games against teams 200+ or in the high 100's as we do. Not that tough to figure out.
