Some things bother me more than others.... like our WR "core" vs corps. Or the there, thier, they'er. I call it fun with homophones. Oh, and how could I forget the ever popular looser and loser?

Also, commas are important.

Let's eat, grandma.
Let's eat grandma.

Everyone fat-fingers one from time to time.

I have caught myself typing, "your" instead of, "you're", "no", instead of, "know", but most of the time, I just type faster than I should and don't pay attention to auto-correct or auto-fill when it sometimes chooses the wrong word.

Autocorrect can be a bitch

In most cases it is a matter of a typographical error rather than one of grammar. I'm type fast and I am In no way gonna be proofreading every post I make.

As can be calling out a board for bad grammar, but misspelling a word while doing so.

I freely acknowledge I'm confident in my own intelligence, but also don't think that makes me special here, as we have a bunch of obviously intelligent posters, including some of you who have particularly shitty grammar.

who ya callin' "you", you?***

It's a message board. It's not that important.

Haha. Yeah, I hate it when that happens. I'm with you on proper grammar though ... sometimes it's obvious that a person is being sarcastic or even cute, but most times it's just carelessness ... I hope. Most of us graduated from MSU, so we should have had at least two courses in English Composition our freshman year. It pays to pay attention ... and it also pays to read back over what you typed before you hit "post".

Yes it is. For one thing, it's a reflection of how careful the poster is in everyday life. Plus, people other than Mississippi State sports fans read the board, and none of us wants outsiders to think that we are stereotypical Mississippi uneducated rednecks. All of should know proper spelling and grammar; it's just a matter of being careful enough to use it.

I hate myself for being a grammar nazi and often edit my own posts for small grammatical errors. The study cited in The Rooster, however, is total bs.

Although being a a sociopath could have it's advantages, sometimes I wish I were one.
