go to gardenandgun.com and vote against oxford for best college town. This is the poll that bjourk was wanting them to vote for themselves in. I think you can vote once each day and they are in the final four vs. baton rouge right now.

How is Austin, Texas not on this list? Austin City Limits Music Festival would beat Oxford on its own.

God....the world will never hear the end of it if they win. But they are so obsessed with getting reassurance from meaningless polls like this, that I bet many of them haven't left their computer in days. Validation that Oxford is the be-all-do-all of college towns via polls like this isn't a want for them, it is a NEED. Therfore, I think people are underestimating the lengths their fans will go to to help substantiate their delusions. They are the only fan base in the US that puts obnoxious amounts of time into manipulating public opinion of their town and university, and skipping meals and bathroom breaks to stay at the computer and get in as many votes as possible is just another day to them.

They are too prideful and dumb to realize that even if Oxford wins, it'll be because of their own fans putting in the meaningless work to get votes in....not because people not associated with UM voted for them, because they're gonna vote for whatever their favorite college is. The fans of other schools just aren't pretentious enough to obsessively vote as much as they can because they need some outside source to tell them how "awesome" their school's town is.

"Final Four of Guns & Gardens". And put the Final Four in really big letters and the Guns & Gardens in microscopic print.

Denton is surprisingly fun and eclectic. UNT has good art and music programs. Seems like they left out most of the larger cities like Nashville/Atlanta/Austin/Raleigh since those aren't "college towns".

But yeah, Oxford doesn't come close to Athens.

Denton and UNT are Dump and suck. Austin might be a large town but they are all about the college. No pro team unlike the others you mentioned.

Make no mistake, they are most definitely working harder at this than any of the other fan bases. I'd bet money I don't even have if there was some way to prove it. They just care WAY more about pompous stuff like this.
