We have held relatively stable in both since the end of the Vandy series. You would have thought taking 2 from #44 UGA would give us a little bit more of a bump, but I guess not. Still should have ample opportunity to move up today and over the next two weekends, especially against UF.

I have a hard time believing 49 teams have played a harder schedule

We've jumped 13 spots since Thursday.

So we've dropped after beating UGA 2 in a row? The two spots I checked after the Vandy series, we were sitting at 27 and 28...and UGA was ahead of us by one spot in both.

Curious... Does anyone know how much we jumped by beating vandy Friday and Saturday? Wondering if we jumped 13 spots...

I seen it dawg

Just keep playing the game and all of this will take care of itself. As of now I believe we are developing into a team that could host a regional.

Strength of schedule will take care of itself with mostly SEC left.

However, as tough as some of our games are we have have had 6 games with 200's RPI teams (SDSU, ASU, MVSU, Nichols) plus two more upcoming (UT Martin).

Yeah, it seems like you generally want to play around 5-6 games against teams 200+ at most.

Yep. Each one of those games hurts us every bit as much as each of the games against USC, UCLA, OU, FAU, and Oregon helps us. Ends up almost being a wash.

We got LSU, OM, aTm, and Florida in the next 5 weeks. Our SOS will be top15 by the end of the year. If not top10.

It will, assuming our record remains good. We also end the year with 3 series against teams that are 100-150, so that will be a bit of a hit.

RPI is so stupid.

Why can't they just pick the best teams?

The Bears played Grambling three times and have a top 5 RPI. I guess because they took 2 of 3 from Louisville, but besides that, they really don't have anything impressive.

We play Valley one time and drop 15 spots.

Ole Miss played Grambling 3 times who is in the 230s or so and move up a spot.

Computers always seem to like Ole Miss in various sports, baseball and basketball RPI, football FPI.

We have 2 of 3 vs vandy on the road. Eku and oral Roberts have to be hurting us

Quit even thinking about RPI and SOS this early. The numbers right now are completely and utterly meaningless. There is little correlation between "RPI" in the middle of weekend 6 and RPI at the end of the season.

Also currently from a RPI standpoint :

UM has had 2 vs #2 rpi USCe and 3 vs Lville #11 RPI

We had 1 vs #7 USA and 1 vs #13 UCLA --Vandy is #28 ----USM is #15-----UGA and FAU are 45 &47

Boyd said a couple of years ago wait until about 35 games in to watch rpi.

Here's how ridiculous it is this early. Started the day Saturday at 23 on Boyd's. Lose to an SEC team and drop to 44.

Hell Ole Miss play a SWAC school three times and it didn't keep them out of the top 10.

I just hope NM doesn't drop too much after getting swept before we play them this wknd. Nothing better than a series win against a top 10 ranked program. (I'm saying they shouldn't be there, but we need to take advantage of it since they are)

Yea I'm thinking we move up to around 11 or 12 and they drop to 13 or 14. The #12 team had a bad week also. (forgot who they were)

I don't think that's it in this case. I think they are getting a LOT of credit for beating Louisville at home and then in the meantime we're getting screwed by Oregon and Vandy losing to Middle Tennessee this week.

Right now if you are a MSU fan you need to start pulling for Oregon, USC, South Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Georgia.
