Don't love the lineup, but what's new?

No Brown, no Rooker, we're clearly going matchup heavy against a righty. Kinda silly, but maybe it will work. I'm not a fan of allowing the other team's pitching choice to dictate whether your biggest bats are in the lineup. Lots of sub opportunities though.

I thought the strategy was to play Brown against righties and Hump against lefties. Why do we keep inserting a .190 hitter in the lineup (marrero), Kruger did a good job behind the plate. ????

Watched kruger catch in the fall and he is really really good defensively, very high baseball IQ back there as well, I think Marrero is good as well but he's over matched at the plate right now.

I think overmatched is a stretch... He's certainly had difficulty finding holes, but I think he will. Cohen wouldn't have pinch hit him for rooker last night if marrero was overmatched... He got a hit too

Although, When he's "on" he gives us a chance to win/hang in the game and that's really all u can ask of your Sunday guy- give us 6 decent innings, don't walk people and don't give up the big inning. If Brown can consistently go 5/6 and limit runs to 5 or lower I would feel ok about him on Sunday's. Would love a shutdown starter though.

I'd give brown another start next weekend. Vandy hurt our lhp all weekend while rhp did well regardless of who it was... In addition to Hudson and sexton, rigby, smith, and Hughes did well. Vandy hurt breaux and brown... Shoulda went rhp at 4-1
