Remind me again why we didn't go after Kermit Davis and landed Rick Ray?? Damn, that game was a bracket buster!

He wanted our job too. Loafers didn't even interview him.

Yeah, I had Sparty in final 4 on one of my brackets (I did 2).

Congrats to Kermit. Happy for a fellow Bulldog.

Yep, but it also put us in a self imposed death penalty which we were absolutely lucky that Coach Howland was available to dig us out of.

Would have probably brought in Butch Pierre also and a chance for John Brady. But nobody wanted in on our dumpster Fire. Also the Fla. Gulf Coast Coach would have loved to be our Coach.

teammates under McCarthy. I've often wondered if that had anything to do with Scott not even interviewing Kermit, Jr.

I think it was some kinda NCAA trouble with Davis. Maybe show case back then but I think he had some issues.

Arguably the biggest upset in tournament history. At least from a Vegas odds standpoint.

Sparty was the 2nd favorite team at 11/2 to win it all, behind only Kansas at 5/1. No team in that position ever lost their first game.

Sparty odds to win the Midwest Region was 7/4. MTSU's odds to win the region was 250/1, tied for last.
