Cohen is a stubborn ass jerk. The new stadium will be scaled down by half of the original plans.

If nothing changes, the 'new' stadium will consist of the current grandstand and a redesigned LFL that looks like generic box seating that holds 10 people each.

Don't forget the lofts. The one thing that would definitely set apart the park will be more than likely stolen by some other team.

Yeah, probably the bears too. They're about to dump a lot of money into their place. It'll be the second renovation or expansion since the last time we did anything. Pretty sad.

Stadium funding data-

Naming rights commitments as of January 2016 totaled roughly 2.5MM:
2 x 500,000 - 1,000,000
3 x 250,000 - 750,000
1 x 150,000 - 150,000
3 x 100,000 - 300,000
2 x 50,000 - 100,000
Several others less than 50,000

The balance of what is being described as "initial funding" is from seat license fees.

Interestingly, the the largest gift on the football expansion was $800,000 with second largest $500,000. Three top university donors are already in 11 initial commitments.

Baseball has tough sledding to get where it wants to unless they can find some wins and a $5MM corporate "baseball complex" naming sponsor.

Well, I guess we deserve it if we let them beat us to the punch. Wouldn't be anything new anyway.

Just use the money on renovating the Hump. With Howland at MSU, we have a better chance of winning in basketball then baseball IMO.

If we move forward with a drastically scaled down version, I'm out.
