I was in law school during the Eli era. Couldn't tell ya how many times I saw him passed out (or on the verge of it) at bars on the Square! He lived in a loft on the Square though. So, I doubt the DUI stories. He did get several "public drunk" pops though.

I heard he got the loft after the DUIs so he'd stop driving after being at the bar and instead could just walk home. Heard this many times.

It's a known thing that coke is a drug issue at Umiss. A guy I graduated HS with went to college there, OD'd at a concert. That was 20yrs ago. Not sure his mom has ever gotten over his death. She was very bitter for a long time.
