according to one of their boards
Fishdawg, 0ur best throwing quarterback (and he was a freshman) left school so we're now on backup plans. In fact, our third and fourth stringer are both walk ons, so you can tell what type of luck we've had at that spot in recruiting lately.
The running backs are a starting guy who is often hurt and another backup that played very little last year. Our star of last year left early for the pro's as a junior, probably saw the danger signs in hanging around at OSU another year.
Our offensive line has been shuffling from spot to spot trying to find some type of decent play.....that Coach on OL area can never make up his mind and settle in on a line up it seems but our coach keeps the guy anyway.
We hopefully get our best big wide out receiver back from injury....but that's as all things, day to day. We have another big guy to the inside receiver side from a juco, and you likely know as we do when you count on juco's it's dangerous and he's had trouble hanging onto the ball. We have a small guy who has shown flashes, but again, smaller guy.
Our defensive ends are very unproven and we haven't had a pass rush since the days of the Big 8. No on second thought, not even then.
The top DE guy is a senior that wasn't used much last year and is more of a baseball player in the past who again, walked on for us, which again says a lot. We have a couple potentially good DL inside guys as well as a couple good young corners......but all but the one DL guy is still somewhat young and unproven and the better rated guy had transferred from D1 to a juco prior to us getting him here.
Likely on the corner, we're using an older guy who didn't have a good year last year on one side and may have a walk-on trasfer from Kansas U playing a lot on the other side who's small and had problems getting playing time at KU apparently....which may say a lot as well. Our starting safety on the one side who returns, you guessed it, another walk on from Wyoming. Do they even play football in Wyoming?
Folks already told you the truth about our kicking game.......again, walk-ons and freshman who hasn't been on the field in the college game.
All of this is factual and sums it up pretty accurately for your guys purposes. Reality is, you should cruise in this game being from the SEC, but the orange colored glasses here are always thinking we're all that! If I was your coach, I'd be preparing for the other upcoming games where you'll face a challenge, this OSU team includes a collection of walk-ons and young, unproven hopefulls.
We haven't proved anything yet and you'll probably see either an over confident OSU team due to rankings or one that is deep down in fear of the SEC. Either way, that bodes bad for the Cowboys. It's well known our coach didn't want to have to play you guys......almost took a job and transferred to Tennessee to avoid this mess! Besides, he's now in an embarrassing and distracting lawsuit about house trim! What a mess!!
