Walker Robbins of George County pitched a perfect game Friday night. Struck out 18, had 2 ground outs and a pop up against Greene County. Nice outing.

He also hit a bomb Tuesday night against Clinton over the left center field wall which was an oppo shot for him.

He's drawing a lot of attention from scouts but I don't know what his draft projection is. Todd, what have you heard on that front?

Walker reminds me of Austin Riley in terms of his high level of maturity in the mental approach to the game not to mention his physical maturity. The dude looks like he's in his early 20s. He will be drafted early.

He's drawing a lot of attention from scouts but I don't know what his draft projection is. Todd, what have you heard on that front?

I haven't seen him listed as a first rounder, but I have seen him rated among the top 100 high school prospects in the country. I could see him going as high as the comp round like Riley did last year- there's always at least one guy from Mississippi in that round it seems like- or I could see him going in the second-third round.

I think Robbins is more of a pitcher to me than Riley was. IMO, I would have rated Riley a little bit higher because I think Austin has more power.

I think we have a decent chance of getting him to Starkville. And he's not flipping.

No where near the biggest. Not a Polk sniffer either. Vandy and lsu smoke our ass in getting 1st and 2nd rounders to campus. At the moment, and all of last year, the team is under performing. Hopefully he'll turn it around but his team is shown no evidence of that happening.
