It's Friday and everyone knows what that means. I'm heading to a wedding in a bit so I'll review some wedding food for the outdoor dawgs.

This is a great weekend. My wife and I are adopting a newborn baby girl, and she came a week early - now she is a leaping, born on 29 FEB. We welcomed Maggie as the newest member of Bulldawg Nation this past Monday in South Florida:

We have a short NICU stay, but nothing serious, so looks like we will be in South Florida for the month. I can think of worse places to be. I went out today in search of local butcher/fish monger, and hit the jackpot. Came home with a couple lbs of stone crab legs, smoked fish dip and some stuffed scallops. We had a picnic today at a local park with the first of the crab legs:

Followed that up with making a quick ceviche type crab meat salad and served in an avocado for dinner, with the remaining stone crab claws. Pretty easy, and great fresh eats for this crappy little rental house we are in for the next few weeks.

Have a great weekend Outdoor Dawgs!

That's simply awesome, SapperDawg! We did the same thing 19 years ago this July. Seems like yesterday so savor and enjoy every minute. Congratulations to your family!

Congrats Sapper!

Wedding last night was fun. For a wedding, food was good. Dinner was brisket, stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped green beans, and potato casserole. Was my wife's cousin walking the aisle but the groom is a good bulldog. Groom's cake was hail state inspired, there was some cowbell ringing, and the DJ played the fight song at one point.

Light lunch. Grilled chicken breast with oven roasted potatoes. I sliced the taters thin, soaked in water and a lil vinegar, tossed in olive oil, seasoned (w/salt, pepper, granulated garlic, parsley), and when they were 5 mins away from finished I pulled them and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.

Congrats Sapper. That's awesome!

1/2 & 1/2 Fried Shrimp & Oyster poboy at Leeville Seafood Restaurant. Good thing they had food, because we got skunked. Terrible day of fishing.
