So today just got a little bit more interesting. They just expanded the Moderate Risk area, and we already have a Tornado Warning in Louisiana.

Those supercells are moving very fast. Reminds me of some of the supercells in Alabama in 2012.

I'm now in Hattiesburg. It looks like we might start getting some of these supercells moving through Hattiesburg earlier than expected. I think by 1:00.

I've had WWL on. The chick reporter said that it lifted as it hit land, which I think is untrue and a irresponsible thing to report. When waterspouts hit land they change color because they are no longer lifting water into the air. That thing was on the ground and we will start getting damage reports on land soon to prove my point.

Meridian is on the edge of the highest risk, but it's difficult to say how bad it could be. It all depends on the fuel, and other ingredients that are present. I'd be cautious.

CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 21...

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 21 CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...STRONG TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS
ACROSS SERN LA/SRN MS AND MOVING INTO SWRN AL.

DISCUSSION...VERY RAPID INCREASE IN LOW-LEVEL SHEAR AND THE
ENLARGEMENT OF THE HODOGRAPH IS EVIDENT FROM KMOB VAD DATA DURING
THE PAST 2 HOURS /300 M2 PER S2 TO 700 M2 PER S2 0-3 KM SRH/. THIS
INCREASE IN THE LOWER TROPOSPHERIC FLOW HAS BEEN COINCIDENT WITH 1-2

WITH THE MORE INTENSE SEVERE STORM CLUSTERS ACROSS SRN MS AND SERN

Of course, man. If she ever wants to talk to someone who went through the program, I'd be more than happy to talk.

I really appreciate that. She would love talking to a real weather expert!

I'm no expert, nor do I ever pretend to be. But I know enough that they gave me this piece of paper.

Tornado Warning including Poplarville MS until 4:30 PM CST

Far from the best pictures, but here is that storm when it was about 7 miles SW of Poplarville.

The first one is the storm off in the distance. You can see the wall cloud and possible top of the funnel as it disappears behind the trees.

The second one is of the rear of the storm as we caught up to it as it went near the road we were on.

It was hard (and dangerous) to try to get too close to these storms due to the terrain and the fact that most were almost immediately becoming rain wrapped. I actually owe the county of Pearl River a little road pylon pole divider from trying to tweet info out to the NWS in zero visibility rain.
