I've always liked Virginia Tech since Beamer has been there. Liked em more when they had those filthy defenses though. Their D has not been nearly as you in the last few years it seems

I like to watch Oregon, and a couple other teams. I don't really pull for them and have no connections.

I've kinda got a soft spot for Clemson. No ties or anything, though.

I also second Hack on the Service schools.

Always been Nebraska fan. I love the way crouch use to execute the option. They were also badass on NCAA 2001 quick slant across the middle to the tall WR.

1. State
2. Ole Miss' Opponent
3. LSU

Those are the 3 teams I root for every weekend. I've gotten to where it's hard to even stomach watching other conferences play.

Tommy Frazier and Crouch were absolutely awesome to watch back in the Osborne days at Nebraska. I fell in love with the option then, and have loved it ever since. That's one reason I am ready to get back to a run first, Mullen offense

Whoever is playing the bears is automatically my 2nd favorite team any weekend.

Outside of those teams, probably Notre Dame.

I dont acknowledge that football exists outside of the SEC anymore

TN

Parents, siblings and cousins all went there.

And no, I wasn't cheering for them in Starkville last yr.

I'm with Coach, I've gotten where watching anything outside the SEC except for maybe Oregon is pretty freakin boring to me

Arizona. I've been to their campus and bought some shirts when I was younger. Plus I like Rich Rod and Byrne. Why not.

I typically roll:

MSU
Ole Miss' opponent
Auburn's opponent
Alabama's opponent
Everybody else in the SEC's opponent (except Florida)
Arizona
Florida

1. State
2. Ole Miss' Opponent

I've gotten to where it's hard to even stomach watching other conferences play.

These are my only two rooting interests on a week to week basis. Of course the SEC matchups are determined by the natural hierarchy of hate and what's needed to advance State.

I haven't watched a full non-SEC football game in years.

Who Dat! After State, all i worry about is the Saints but I do pull for West Virginia, Baylor and Oregon if they are on. Just fun to watch those guys

Well guys, the thing is.....I hate the SEC. It is hard for me to pull for any other team besides MSU. I don't wanna see Ole Miss, LSU, Bama, Auburn, aTm, PigU, USCe, blah blah do anything good....Screw em all

Packers.. after MSU and sometimes Bama (just because just about everybody around me at work, etc., is a Bama fan, dammit) there's nobody else I like.. and as far as any other sports, it's MSU all the way, win or lose.

Whoever I put money on that day. Zero favorites outside of MSU and the SEC. That's what makes NCAA March Madness such a BRILLIANT tournament to watch. The underdog winning happens every year at times during that tournament. Everyone roots for the underdog.

If they are better in a significant capacity(I agree, I think they will be), Dan likely won't be here...

Nothing would reflect better on Mississippi State than us calling Hud home from a program that is considered superior to us in the national eye...as I fully expect him to get some good opportunities in the next couple of years.

Dawg61

That's a hell of a prediction. Detailed too. You have Dan taking a better job and Hud leaving whatever job he'd been hired for (which you say will be superior than the MSU job). I like it. I just don't see Dan leaving though when that time comes because he will see all that he's built here and that's when he realizes he is here for good.

Dan will straight up tell you that coaches have a 10 year shelf life at a place at best... and I quote, "I figure I got a 2 year grace period -- and from this point forward, I'll piss off 10% of the fanbase/yr." That's about right at this point. Football coaches just don't have the shelf-life to stay at places forever anymore unless they take you to heights you've never seen before and essentially become transcendent. Look at the extent that the excitement is zapped this year among our general fanbase...

Hud sees this as his home and dream job. I still don't think Mullen sees it as that...

SEC tenures(as of today):

Gary Pinkel - 12 yrs
Mark Richt - 12 yrs
Les Miles - 8 yrs
Steve Spurrier - 8 yrs
Nick Saban - 6 yrs
Dan Mullen - 4 yrs
Will Muschamp - 2 yrs
James Franklin - 2 yrs
Kevin Sumlin - 1 yr
Hugh Freeze - 1 yr
Butch Jones - 0 yr
Gus Malzahn - 0 yr
Bret Beilema - 0 yr
Mark Stoops - 0 yr

That's pretty telling really... Mullen is the 6th most tenured coach in the SEC -- and at least 5 of the 6 ahead of him can be reasonably considered Hall-Of-Fame coaches...

But what/where is Dan's true "home"? He went to Ursinus and has coached at Wagner, Colombia, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and MSU. We ARE his home. By year 10 he will have built a top 20 program. I fully believe that.

I hope you are right -- and if he has, we won't be missing anything by not having Hud here...

Sherrill had some family issues occur and then his team fell off a cliff after Memphis9-11. I don't foresee Dan falling off the same cliff.

Jackie was here during an ENTIRELY different time...

Jackie's first 6 years would get Mullen fired today...against 3x the competition...
