Nice swing by Lowe. Should have been on first anyway though. But he did what he was suppose to do with that pitch. Good play by the LF or its 10-7

Did anyone else realize we were this young? I dont think we are actually this young. I feel like Cohen has forced the young guys into the lineup.

I feel a little better now that we've started hitting some. Hopefully it carries into tomorrow

And not playing the game the right way in the 6th. Big inning demoralizes them, instead we play Bitchball and leave the door open being cute

To be fair we had several hard hit "at 'em" balls. Mangum in particular hit it on the screws after the bunt, but the LF basically didn't even move to catch it.

And it's official. 10-6 FAU. Stovall drove in Reid after a leadoff double.

Tough start to the season, it's never fun losing opening day. The number of freshman we played tonight was kind of confusing. One positive note was the 17 hits, we have to learn how to manufacture those into runs though. Without that trainwreck of a 7th inning we win this game handily. Oh well, back at it tomorrow with a DH, lets pick both of those up and we're just where we want to be going into Sunday.

Agreed. Same problem in this game that we had last year where our pen wouldn't just lose a lead. They would let teams score 7-8 run innings which practically puts it out of reach. Had we just let them score four that inning we come back and send it to extra innings. Our frosh pitchers can't get down on themselves. They need to just go in there and pitch through it. Tonight, FAU had at least 4-5 hits that were nubbers that just landed where we weren't. They knocked in at least five runs that way. We are hitting though so I think we can come back and make it 3-1 this weekend. But our pitchers don't need to get down on themselves just pitch through it. The pen performance tonight was all mental.

Need to not try to manufacture anything and just let them hit. No more meddling.

Need a couple CG's tomorrow.

17 hits and several atom balls. Can't complain about our hitting. What lost it was 2 lead off walks in the seventh. Small should have kept pumping the fastball.

Manufacture doesn't necessarily mean BUNT. We have to learn how to handle the bat, hit behind runners, put pressure on the defense. We didn't do that well today.

I blame this loss on the kids in the stands.

Collins- if he starts at third, humpreys is in left.

Houston/Paul Young- are the guys we proably go to when Breaux struggles in his second inning. Them being out changed our pen. No clue if sexton is out all weekend but for he is. That's another bullpen arm we had to save.

I agree the bullpen blew the game BUT I don't know that I agree that if it was still a 1 or 2 run game we would have hit the ball and scored the runs we did late in the game. Its just as likely that once the game was out of hand our hitters loosened up and started squaring up the ball. I still have no confidence that our offense can produce when it means something.

You're batting 1.000% in ruining game threads. Looks like you'll tie your record for the fourth straight season.
