This game that's being televised at the bar looks like bowling on ice, kind of, dude pushes a big puck looking thing down a lane and two guys sweep the ice in front of the puck...... Any idea what this is called? Looks boring and certainly not very exciting.

Id ask someone but these Canucks are all cheering over hockey reruns!

Happy MFing Valantines Day.

Really? I guess I need to get out more, I've never seen it before. It's very slow paced.
Why do the guys sweep the ice in front of the "puck"?

The sweeping melts the ice and reduces the friction. You can also steer the boulder by sweeping.

Sort of acts as a zamboni. Smoothes out the ice creating cleaner ice=more speed. They can also alter the path by doing that

Very interesting, maybe I was to quick to judge. It's kind of like an auto accident, I just can't stop watching.

It's a sport built for drinking.

Yes, I see that! Lol

FYI: Mike McEwen is the new Manitoba champion.

Drinks all around.

Yes Curling and Canadians (My personal " chosen people") love the sport. Cheer with the majority and people will buy you beer.

The scandinavian countries women's curling is where it's at.

There was a lot of talent on their last Olympic teams 👀

I have a friend in Charlotte who took curling lessons. He said it was a ton of fun.

Personally I like the outlandish pants that the guys wear/wore in the Olympics. Beats anything I've ever seen.

If the women's teams competed in bikinis then I think I would watch.

Probably the best Olympic game for the winter olympics. If nothing else, you can become a Curler for a total investment of about 300 dollars and practice.
I think MSU should look to get a team qualified. We have to have 10 people on campus that would want to give this a go.

cowbells at the winter olympics would be awesome. Ice doesn't absorb any sound.

Already used a lot at downhill skiing, luge, and bobsled events.

Curling, not ice hockey, is actually Canada's official national sport.
