Peterson's role is undefined at the moment but I'm told he will not be an on the field coach next season.

He's going to be the director of player personnel

That's Rockey's job. Interesting

Really Clark?

I bet he is on the field within a year or two. Too good of a young coach.

If it's Ricky's job it'll be a big bump in pay. We are paying Rocky 160k +. If it's Jon Clarks spot which is Rockys assistant I believe it will be around 110k

I wonder what Hud is thinking? They both are from the Louisville?

Good for Brad Peterson and good for MSU. It'll be interesting to see where he is 10 years from now and Im glad he is starting his college career at State.

Peterson, in a PR job, that creates goodwill among HS coaches in this state, for our football program?

Umm, ok.

Has he ever been an offensive line coach? That's our greatest need right now, and has been for several years.

Are we not hiring Simmons coach Shorter? I was told a major reason he signed with us was because he was promised a job? Is that just a rumor

I had heard that same thing. But heck we may not be done making staff hires. Who knows.

That's what I was thinking to but I'm just wondering cause I heard a rumor Simmons was pissed that we didn't hold our end of the bargain but I hope it's just a "rumor"

Peterson gives immediate help to our biggest area of need right now......better relations with MS HS coaches. Since Hughes' departure, this is our biggest need now that we have hired some recruiters as position coaches.

Home run hire for MSU.

Couple of folks in this thread need to zip it or be vacationed for a while until they learn.

Really Clark?

Simmons tweeted a few days ago about he signed with us with no knowledge about any of his coaches being offered a job. Shorter is up for the Meridian HC job per the local newspaper there. I don't know what might have happened to cause the Hampton deal to possibly fall through.

The Shorter/Simmons package deal was started by OM to make themselves feel better for losing Jeffery. Please let's kill this rumor bc it's not true.

Thank you. It amazes me how many of our fans can't resist the shiny hook of the OMU spin machine.

You are either really ****ing stupid or a troll, which also makes you the former. Either way you aren't long for here.

I said in an earlier post that I think this is a WONDERUL hire......He is an incredible offensive coach and positive motivator of the players in the right way. I've been watching high school football (up close) for longer than some/most of you have been alive. What I saw in my hometown is what is all about. I just wish mine could have played for him.

This is exactly right. Dan wouldn't admit this but I think he finally realizes that he is polarizing amongst high school coaches in this state and needs to bring in another person with tons of credibility like Brad. Wouldn't surprise me if one of the dead weight recruiters got pulled off the recruiting trail and Brad focused on recruiting. At least I hope that's what happens.

If you want to see why Jeffrey Simmons is at Mississippi State, go read some of the scouting reports for the draft on Robert Nkemdiche. Nkemdiche is a talented player who has no secondary moves when rushing the passer and doesn't know how to use his hands. He was taught NOTHING at Ole Miss.

Simmons wants to develop his game and become a better player.

Thanks. Just asking a question. No need for people to get their panties in a wad. Obviously I wasn't the only one that heard the rumor. I didn't 100% believe it but I will admit I was skeptical. I somewhat believed it because it came from a state guy.

Def not a troll. Just wanted to know an answer. I don't understand how this in any way hurts Msu football. The kid has already signed his LOI for god sakes. Calm the fu** down. Some of you take this shit too serious.
