Has the ncaa gone so long without really hammering someone that these recruits (17-18 year olds) don't even worry about probation? Just a thought, but I think probation seems much worse to us older guys bc we remember teams getting hammered

The last 3 places that I remember getting hit pretty much land recruits just because of who they are. That would be USCw, Ohio State and Penn State. UNM is not in that category and there will be some severe lessons learned by their signees if they do indeed get hit with bowl bans and scholly reductions.

It is all about getting paid. College is a necessary stopping point before recruits get to the nfl and the more stuff they can get while in college, the better.

Bowls, probations, etc. is of no consequence to most.

NCAA put USC on probation in June of 2010. If this years seniors are 18 in June of 2016, that means they were 12 when USC went on probation. Pretty sure most of them were doing other things when they were 12 instead of keeping up with who was going on probation in the sports world.

National championships and bowl games are just memories. Cash in the pocket right now is a selling point.
