Hearing this is the new movie scheduled for a 12/16/16 release. Thing is I read this will not be a continuation of The Force Awakens. This one will take place between episodes 3 and 4. They're trying to get James Earl Jones to voice Vader again. Why would they not continue where 7 ended? Seems like they're wasting a perfectly good build up unless that will be the finale in episode 9.

They have announced 3 "Star Wars stories" movies that will be released. Rouge is the story of the rebels who stole the plans to the Death Star; one is about Han pre-SW, and the third is supposedly about Boba Fett.

This is the first of what they're calling the Anthology films. They're all standalone stories set within the existing universe and continuity, but will introduce fresh characters. Didn't know Rogue was going to be the story of how the Death Star plans were stolen, but that sounds fun. I did know they were planning on doing one on a young Han and on Boba Fett. There will be many more of these. Personally, I think it's a great idea and gives them an opportunity to do some fresh, different things without being burdened by the "Serials".

The "Numbered" movies will continue and will be focused on the Skywalker family saga. Basically, they're maximizing property revenue and attempting to expand the fan base with the Anthology.

They didn't give George Lucas a bazillion dollars to do 3 movies. It will go until the public losses it's appetite for it.
