Glenn Frey passed away today at the age of 67! Eagles one of my favorite bands of all time. It just seems like yesterday I was watching him on stage with the Eagles on the Hotel California tour. RIP Glenn!

Dude, I am frankly surprised that most if them lived past 40.

So, Dead Rocker Jokes....

Real big loss to the music era that I really love. The Showtime 3 hour documentary on the Eagles is awesome.

Tough loss for my era. I really enjoyed his music with the Eagles.

Speechless. The Eagles have to be in the top 3-4 bands of all time.

Death of famous people never really moved me one way or another. I guess watching my dad die with me and him all alone while it happened made me hard. I was only 11 years old.

Best band of all time. No others close. Music trancended time.

And with all due respect, Led zepplin is also my favorite but the eagles get the nod.

The Eagles are great and will always be considered great- but they arent LZ. When LZ mentioned getting back together for a show in 2007- 15 million people tried to get tickets to a show in England. 15 million.

For sure the best group of musicians and songwriters ever and individually to also have such great careers.

The Eagles are my all time favorite and I was lucky enough to see them 5 times but the best concert I ever went to was Plant and Page at the BancorpSouth Arena. I was worried that it was going to be Plant's weird Indian Zen bullshit but after only 2 of those, it was all Zeppelin after that.

Plant is performing here in Shreve in March. Cant wait

Met Glenn and Joe Walsh at the NAMM Show, 2001. Walsh is hilarious!

I'd probably put them at #4, but #1 American band.

Maybe in a 3-way tie for #2 overall.

#1 Beatles
#2 Led Zeppelin
#2 Rolling Stones
#2 Eagles

Most lists you see don't have have the Eagle anywhere near the top 10, but I don't agree with that notion.

In terms of unit sales, Eagles are #4 behind the Beatles, U2, and Led Zeppelin.

...and wrote some of the greatest country/rock songs in the history of music. He and Don Henley were the backup band to the sweetest senorita Tucson ever put out, Linda Ronstadt, and she helped Glenn and Don choose the musicians and and band members who made up the Eagles! Great loss!

Frey also played in studio with Bob Seger at the age of 19.

The Eagles are great but place quite a few ahead

The Who
The Doors
Pink Floyd
Stones
Beatles
The Police
Grand Funk

Sorry but I don't believe in that analogy.....saying one band from the greatest music era is the best....well it's like asking which one is greater The Beatles or the Rolling Stones.....apples and oranges. But yes I do remember much further back than "Hotel California". I actually remember them on "The King Biscuit Flour hour" radio show and Jackson Browne was a regular sitting in. Lets just say 2016 @@@@ in a really bad way. I don't think the greats really knew how much their music transcended so many people's lives........

I wasn't a big fan of his solo stuff. Overplayed. The Heat is on, You Belong to the City, Smuggler's Blues....meh.

But the greatest vocal with the Eagles was "Tequila Sunrise"....with "Lyin' Eyes", "Take It Easy", and "Peaceful, Easy Feeling"...a close 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.

I'd switch your 1st and 2nd- but agree for the most part.
