Dan Patrick has been saying for a while now that the CFB landscape eventually is going to be 4 super conferences. I like the line in the article "Many of the sport?s lovable little inefficiencies may be cast aside.". When the dollars start to shrink noticeably, that will force the powers- that- be's hands to make smart business decisions over silly nuances (like the Rose Bowl MUST be mid-day on new years day stuff). It also makes the 4 team playoff make a lot more sense.
