Shoop didn't get much of a raise to go to Tennessee and my guess is that he and Butch have a past relationship. Is Shoop any good anyway?

Throw that in with Frinklin going on the hot seat, and it seems like the timing was right.

I hate when MSU fans play the Po Missisiskppi Tate card. We are going to get a very good coordinator, maybe better than Shoop.

Shoop is really good, Aranda is awesome. For the lackluster head coaching hires in the sec -- most of the coordinator hired have been awesome

He is good. The best defense in Big 10 last year middle of the pack this year but only 3 points higher in the scoring defense compared between the two years. Auburn went after him earlier this offseason.

He signed nearly a $1 MIL right after it came out LSU was going after him last year. Most believe that he and Tenn was already in talks this year when they fired Janeck. He does have a $800,000 buyout from last year's deal, I believe.
