9 of Top 15 lost. Do any of them fall all the way out of rankings, and if so, which ones, and how far?

Of 16-32 only losses were #19 UF , #24 Temple, #27 USCw, #28 BYU. 33-35 lost. Seems a no-brainer we pass over all losers from #24 through 35, maybe UF, given their epic beat-down and late season collapse. But that's just 7 spots counting UF. If none of the T15 losers fall out completely, that would leave 2 open spots to get into the T25. We'd have to leap-frog 4 of 5 more teams, all of whom won their bowl game, to get in. Those teams are:

UGA
Tennessee
San Diego State
Washington State
UPig

I've seen a few on here predict we will be anywhere from #21 to #25. I'd love to see it happen, but don't see how, given how only 2 of the bottom 10 lost.

Still unanswered from the other threads is, who do we pass to get into the T25?

If you think we do, please list the teams we pass up, IYO.

but blowout losses late in the year pretty much doomed us.

Not sure who could pass but wondering if the strong showing by the sec helps us get a little bump possibly?

Yep, this is how I feel. I think we're going to be better than about 8 or 9 teams that will finish ranked in the T25, but we will be out due to Bama and UNM. Shitting the bed vs UNM was the end. Not sure I can remember so much difference based on 1 game. Win and we finish 2nd in the West, going to the Sugar. But losing that one game dropped us to next-to-last in the West, with no real shot at the T25, IMO.

Danny Kannell is the exception.

I looked back 10 years and couldn't find any examples of a 9-4 SEC team not finishing the season ranked.

That includes both of James Franklin's Vandy teams that went 9-4.

I could argue jumping up to 26 through maroon glasses, but it's a stretch to get us that far.

Outside of the playoff there were 7 losses by the teams ranked 5-15. The committee's rankings are garbage. That's a lot of losses by higher ranked teams.

The rankings are complete trash.

We may not finish in the top 25, but WE ARE BETWEEN THE 15-20th BEST TEAM IN THE NATION THIS YEAR.

The depth of the SEC West is screwing up the rankings because semi-elite teams have mediocre records, but the media wants to rank teams based on records instead of the eye test.

Metrics, stats, & analytics are great, but, while it's not politically correct because everyone thinks the eye test is subjective & biased, THE EYE TEST IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST WAY TO EVALUATE TEAMS. The first thing that most sabremetrics GMs do in the NFL & MLB, is expand the scouting department.

Alabama is the best team.

Ole Miss is a top 10 team

MSU is a 15-20 type team.

However, the rankings likely won't show this.

MSU is better than W Kentucky, Temple, Wisconsin, Navy, Utah, Florida, Houston, OK State, Northwestern, North Carolina, & Iowa. MSU vs Michigan State would be a great game.

The rankings won't say that, but that's the truth
