I know he was on staff under JWS but pretty sure it was for one year then he went back to the NFL. Watson Brown was the first OC then I think Arians came in for one year somewhere after that in the mid 90s

He had two different stops at MSU and was the OC for a few years

I still think it was dumb to fire him.

And nobody thought he'd make a good HC until he had to interim for Pagano when he fought cancer and had to sit out a year. Arians took a mediocre team to the playoffs and is 13-2 now with the Arizona Cardinals.
So much for winning the press conference.

I sure didn't. Offense was terrible in 93 & 95, and barely adequate in 94.

No and I don't remember anyone even considering him as a HC back then, he's like the walk on that becomes an All-American.

I love Jackie Wayne but he was going to win with defense and special teams at State. He had no intentions of ever opening up the offense.

Bruce was a hell of a coach and we had fools who wanted to fire him. I am traveling so not sure if Bruce coached under Sherrill. I think he was under Tyler but might be mistaken.

He coached RBs from 78-80 and then was OC from 93-95 under Jackie.

Went to hs in Starkville with his son Jake who was a kicker. Think he went to GaTech and later with the saints for a brief period if memory serves.
