OK, I will kick this off with our Christmas Eve dinner. Not quite the Feast of the Seven Fishes, but close: Boudin balls, catfish cakes, fried gulf shrimp, seafood gumbo and jo jos.

My best outdoor related gift came from my super thoughtful wife. I have been talking about canning some venison this year, and she hooked up me up with the All American 921 pressure canner.

This baby will hold 19 pints! I have some roasts in the freezer from last year I am gonna try this out with, and can hopefully still put a few down before the end of the season to really give this baby a workout.

Not quite outdoor, but I got a Ninja Coffee Bar set up. Can't do anything indoor or outdoor without my morning go juice and my old Mr. Coffee was about to give up the ghost.

We cook Christmas Eve. I did a low and slow Coke can chicken with a rub and a terrific pork tenderloin. The pork is a recipe and technique I learned from a friend in Greenwood years ago. Use pork sausage seasoning combined with a type a rub the night before, low and slow 4 hour cook, basting every 30 minutes with olive oil/vinegar/Tabasco/Worcestershire.

Sipping triple shot eggnog this morning and about to start a movie marathon with the kids.

Eating something good at the in-laws soon. Going to attempt to deer hunt after lunch and through the weekend. Rain gear and I will have the therma-cell in overdrive. Merry Christmas to all.

Damn good looking beef there, Beast. We had a Thanksgiving redo today. Smoked turkey, sausage stuffing, Brussel's sprouts, pumpkin soup and lots of sweets. Got turkey bone gumbo on the stove now, and sipping a Bulliet 10 to finish things off.

ETA: We got squirrelly tonight and let it hang loose. Our tasting:

You're telling me. I'm almost afraid to fish with it. Ended up putting it on a penn battalion 7H fast and I'm going to use it for bull reds and offshore for snapper. 40lb Suffix 832. I might use it some in the marsh when I'm fishing live/dead beat under a cork. It's overkill but I have to use it. Might not have those few bulls a year break me off.
