I agree on Basil Hayden and as Hack stated it's really not close. I love a good Bourbon and Coke and it's the only way I will drink most bourbons. That's an art form that I mastered at MSU as I suspect many of you did as well. Basil Hayden is an exception and I would feel like I was ruining it if I added Coca Cola. Take a great big cube, pour Mr. Basil Hayden on top and sip away at the smooth nectar.

I had a bottle show up yesterday from some guys that work for me and I doubt I will get a better present this year.

Then you'd pick Knob Creek since Basil and Knob basically share a distillery. I'll be sippin on some 10 year Pappy..... it was worth standing in line for 4 hours to get.

Knob Creek and Basil may be made at the same place, but there is a big difference in the bourbons. Put them side by side and the Knob tastes horrible.

Thanks for mentioning the Pappy. I have a guys lunch next week and think I will pull out the 12 year to go with cigars after....
