And I'm just gonna leave this here: I rarely post because I don't live in Starkville, I live 4 hours south and I have zero inside info but I do enjoy reading and keeping up with the current events yall are always posting. I'm a former State student and have multiple current and former family members that love State. I was just posting what I saw because it's not often that I have anything to contribute to this board

Ok I'll bite, what did they almost fight security about?

Bc usually in a casino you are behaving or getting thrown through some glass. (As opposed to voluntarily jumping through glass as some have lately).

Most posters don't live in Starkville, either. I don't.

If it was a troll wouldn't it be trolling OM in this case?.....which would be totally acceptable wouldn't it...?

Just heard something very similar from a coaching buddy on the coast. May be a legit sighting. Will post if I hear anything else
....ETA he does read here, so not sure if his text meant he saw/heard it down there or if he maybe read it here. Will try to confirm. He prolly is out cold until this afternoon haha

When I walked in I noticed him right away and a few minutes later him and a security guard were yelling back and forth at a craps table. some other guys with him (I'm assuming other guys on the team) had to calm him down and then the security guard just walked away

They got plenty of cash and they act like thugs so why wouldn't it be true. No surprise whatsoever. Would be more surprised if it was completely made up.

Cameras aren't generally allowed in casinos. That is especially the case, if you are trying to take pictures of gaming areas.

But, I get your point. These things are always seemingly phantom in nature.

It also could have a "donation", "subsidy", or "maintenance payment", with chips in lieu of cash. "Chips ain't worth nuthin', till you cash 'em out!"

There were "allegations" of such. There were accusations of rigged slot machines, and other creative payment methods. Sounded like stuff from the SEC Rant's epic ATPB thread, to me.

Maybe his family came down from up North for the Sugar Bowl and Christmas and staying on the coast. It's not that far from New Orleans. It's posible they were in a casino. I don't understand calling him a troll. Hell his first five post is going to be about something. Might as well be something he saw.

If it was me I would have been ****ing with them like playing five dollars and taking a hit when I should not be taking hit. Getting on the Craps table and betting against them.

It was victory casino that got shut down in the middle of that bribery investigation into AL's state legislature. There were rumors that they were giving the players chips and letting them go cash them in. It was an easy way to exchange something worth value that wasn't money, but if they were handing them chips I don't understand why they didn't just hand them cash. Seems strange, but there was definitely some shadey stuff going on at that casino. It's since been shut down. If I remember correctly, it's between Auburn and Montgomery or south of Montgoemry between there and mobile.

Dosen't matter. He only has one more game of usefulness for them. After that it will be "Quan has always had a gambling problem, we tried to help him but couldn't."

"Reply"

Then hit the icon with the tree on it at the top of the "reply" box. Should allow you to navigate to your pics.

There are valid reasons why. But they are almost impossible to fully enforce, with cameras on virtually every device this side of your eyeglasses.

According to the NCAA bylaws under section 10.3 a student athlete cannot gamble or could lose eligibility. Of course with the lack of institutional control up there nothing surprises me.

They weren't gambling. They were witnessing to lost souls at the blackjack table.

That bylaw is about gambling on sports not regular gambling. If the NCAA banned all gambling, lots of student athletes would be ineligible. Roast on about how they got the money, but at least get the bylaw right.
