After seeing many coons on my camera by the deer feeder I've decided to catch a few. I remember eating bbq coon years ago at a camp and it was quite good, or it could have been the 18 Coors light that made it seem good. Anyway, I have purchased a live trap and want you guys idea on the best way to dispose of live coon before taking it out of trap. I do not have the heart to see how long it can hold its breath under water and fear a .22 will damage my trap. Any ideas? Any suggestions on how to prepare meat? Thanks in advance!

I can't help, but most folks use leg hold traps and a .22.

Meet me with the trap. I will take him out of yours and put him in one of mine and turn him loose on my family land. Folks around here coon hunt every night. Keep trapping them. PM me I will take all of them that you can catch. I can never have too many coons for my little gal to tree, or just let me come hunt your place with my dog and your pics with coons in them will start declining rapidly. Tusk can vouch for her.

welding gloves ... we used to catch them live and cage them until their coats primed out a little more (they can only prime so much in the deep south) but the heavy leather gloves will protect pretty good
